Year 8 Girls Cricket

The year 8 Girls’ Cricket team played fantastically well on Wednesday 17th June came runners up in Devon in the county finals in Torquay.

Playing against Torquay Academy and South Dartmoor College, Tavistock were both strong with the bat and decisive in the field.

Izzy Hillier and Darcey Brown were our highest run scores and our main wicket takers were Leah Parnell-Moses and Captain Mione Shaw.

Tavistock won their opening game in the tri-series beating Torquay by 4 runs and with Torquay losing their other game to South Dartmoor, it left a showdown in the final game.

Tavistock set a target 59 off their 60 balls and took early wickets. However, with a good batting performance South Dartmoor surpassed the target making a further 26 runs.

Well done to all of the students involved:

Mione Shaw, Darcey Brown, Sophie Isaac, Katie Gray, Katelyn Lees, Mia Cole, Izzy Hillier, Charlotte Able, Catlin Bond, Niamh Matthews, Leah Parnell-Moses.
