Brussels Sprouts Day 2025
On Monday 1 December, the College commemorated the life of Mr James Stroud by starting our soon-to-be annual Brussels Sprouts Day. Tragically, James died in August this year following a short illness connected to an underlying liver condition.
James loved to wear a Brussels Sprouts Christmas suit each year and the 1 December marks his birthday.
To raise awareness and money for the Foundation of Liver Research, students were able to wear items of green clothing, purchase Brussels Sprouts badges and enjoy all manners of Brussels Sprouts food in our refectory; sprouts cooked a number of ways with bangers and mash, a range of sprout inspired salads and some sprout cakes (or rather cake with green food colouring).
The day provided the College with a positive focus amidst what has been a challenging time for our community; we all miss James very much.
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who made this such a special day; there a too many to mention but they certainly know who they are. Today was all about #teamtavi.
At the time of writing, we have raised over £1000 for the Foundation for Liver Research. A huge thank you to all those who have donated.
