TAVISTOCK COLLEGE FULL OF PRIDE AS STUDENTS RECEIVE GCSE RESULTS

This year's results reflect the commitment shown by pupils throughout their studies, supported by staff, families and the wider school community.

Overall, the College achieved a sound increase on last year's results with improved pass rates in both English and Maths at Grade 4 and Grade 5. Students achieved strongly in Chemistry, Art, French, Construction, Creative Media, Biology, Dance, Physics, Business Studies and Drama.

Alongside strong academic outcomes, many students have secured KS5 places at Tavistock College Sixth Forms along with other local colleges, apprenticeships and other post-16 destinations where they will continue their studies and pursue their ambitions.

Of note Katie Avent successfully achieved a grade 9 in every subject sat; Biology, Chemistry, Drama, English Language, English Literature, History, Maths, Physics and Spanish.

· Lilia Kilpatrick who successfully achieved grade 9-9 in Double science and grade 9 in Spanish, Distinction * in Hospitality and Catering, Grade 8 in Maths, Grade 7 in English Language, Grade 6 in English Literature and a Level 2 Merit in Child Development

· Polly Coldron who successfully achieved grade 9 in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Physics, Grade 8 in History, Grade 7 in Computer Science and Grade 6 in English Language, English Literature and Music

· Amelia Metcalf who successfully achieved grade 9 in Chemistry, grade 8 in Biology, History, Physics and Spanish, Grade 7 in Art, English Language, English Literature and Maths

· Charlie Brent who successfully achieved Grade 9 in Business Studies, Grade 8 in Biology, Chemistry, English Literature, Maths and Physics, Grade 7 in Design Technology and Grade 6 in English Language

· Tilly Pace who successfully achieved Grade 9 in English Literature, Grade 8 in Art, Biology, Chemistry, English Language, History, Grade 7 in French and Grade 6 in Maths and Physics.

· Jasmine Cann who successfully achieved a Grade 9 in Business Studies, Grade 8 in English Language, English Literature, Grade 8-7 in Double Science, Grade 7 in History, Maths and Grade 6 in PE

· George Brown who successfully achieved a Grade 9 in Chemistry, Grade 8 in Business, Computer Science, Physics, Grade 7 in Biology, English Literature and Maths, Grade 6 in PE and Grade 5 in English Language

· Thomas Mills who successfully achieved a Grade 9 in Biology, Grade 8 in Chemistry, Maths, Level 2 Distinction in Hospitality and Catering, Grade 7 in English Language, Physics, Grade 6 in English Literature, History and PE

Collecting their GCSE results today, Katie Avent, said “I feel so amazed that all of my work has paid off; it’s almost impossible to believe!”

Tilly Pace said “I’m so happy all of my revision was worth it and I am so happy with my results”

I am proud of each and every one of them and can't wait to see what is next for them all whether it is continuing with sixth form at Tavistock College, other further education destinations or into work-based apprenticeships. It has been a pleasure working with you and your families over the past 5 years - a huge well done!”

To recognise outstanding success as well as those students who have made such a huge effort is such a privilege of mine and I want to say a huge well done to each and every one of them.
