Match Report: Tavistock College 6th Form 2–1 Mount Kelly

On 17 March, Tavistock 6th Form faced Mount Kelly in a highly competitive fixture, eventually securing a well‑deserved 2–1 victory.

Mount Kelly started strongly, applying pressure down the right wing. Their early attacking play paid off when Harry PJ latched onto an excellent through ball from Harry Whitcher and finished into the far corner, giving Mount Kelly a 1–0 lead at half-time.

Tavistock began the second half with renewed intensity. Daniel Udo’s sharp footwork in the box drew a foul, earning a penalty which he confidently converted into the bottom-right corner to level the score at 1–1.

As the game progressed, Tavistock’s defence held firm, while sustained attacking pressure forced Mount Kelly deeper into their own half. Their efforts were rewarded when Orlando Seaney delivered a pinpoint corner into the box, met by Udo who rose highest to head the ball into the top-left corner. Although the Mount Kelly goalkeeper managed to get a hand to it, he couldn’t keep it out, sealing a 2–1 win for Tavistock.

A strong performance from the whole squad and a deserved result.

Match report by Isla Miller (Year 12).
