Year 12 Performing Arts: The Cream Tea Conundrum
Our Year 12 Performing Arts students recently delighted audiences with The Cream Tea Conundrum, an interactive comedy performance created and performed by Unknown Octopus Theatre Co as their debut production. Blending drama, dance, musical theatre and pantomime-inspired comedy, the performance showcased the students’ creativity, energy and teamwork.
Set in Tavistock, the story follows the hilarious chaos that erupts when one very serious rule is broken — the cream is not put first on a scone. As the town descends into uproar, two hopeful romantics, Jan and Dan, try to find a way to be together while navigating the traditions and judgement surrounding them. The result was a fast-paced, playful show demonstrating how one innocent decision can spiral into unforgettable chaos.
Well done to all the students involved for such a fantastic performance, and thank you to our supportive audience, who also enjoyed a cream tea after the show!
