Netball Results
Plymouth College came to Tavistock College to play the year 7 and 8 netball team.
Both teams played for 30 minutes and had great games, the year 7 had a promising start taking the lead for the first 10 minutes however the Plymouth College shooters then found their form and managed to take the lead. Tavistock College lost their game 8 – 14. The Tavistock girls played really well and were extremely sporting and well-mannered especially when a couple of their players fell over.

The Y8 team played fantastically against a strong Plymouth College team winning 6-5. Every player kept fighting until the end and it shows in the score! Well done Tavistock a great result against a strong team.

On Thursday 15th Launceston came to Tavistock to play the year 9 and 10 team for their second game of the session. After a disappointing start to the session the year 9 Tavistock team came on court determined to win and this continued throughout the 50 minute game, the girls managed to keep their lead throughout the game winning 13 – 11.

The year 10 team were not so successful with a final score of 31 -11, this was mainly down to the exceptional shooters that Launceston produced and the Tavistock team not really playing cohesively until the second half when they scored most of their goals. Regardless of the score the girls learnt a lot from the game and still enjoyed it.

Under 13’s Girls Football
The year 7 girls played in their first football fixture on Monday 12th October against an experienced Plymstock School side. The girls had not played together as a team before but came into the match with an enthusiastic approach.
Plymstock made a strong start, dominating the game with their county striker scoring a number of times with Tavistock responding by tightening up their defensive play. Changes in positions were made at half time; the score standing at 9-nil to Plymstock. With 3 alterations in the Tavistock team, the girls kept their resolve and put the Plymstock team under a great amount of pressure, getting 2 goals back. The final score was Plymstock School 16-2 Tavistock College.
Well done to all of the girls who took part.
